Considering A No Upper Cabinet Kitchen?

I am kind of diggin the no upper cabinet look in kitchens lately. I like the floating shelves look. The room looks more open and I love the idea of displaying pretty little things on those shelves and some cups, mugs, cake pedestals and such. I get I lose some cabinet space by taking them out, but I have a pretty big pantry and was going to put extra cabinets on the island.  Here are pictures I found of kitchens with no upper cabinets:
